Transform

TRANSFORM drives innovative animal health solutions to boost farmer resilience, safeguard public health, and strengthen agriculture systems across Asia and Africa.

Transformational Strategies for Farm Output Risk Mitigation (TRANSFORM) is a groundbreaking initiative aimed at advancing animal health innovations to build farmer resilience and improve global health. A public-private collaboration between USAID, Heifer International, Cargill, and the International Poultry Council, TRANSFORM focuses on supporting animal agriculture value chains to boost farmer livelihoods and enhance global health security. The project’s key goals include improving access to safe, affordable, high-quality animal-sourced nutrition, preventing antimicrobial resistance and zoonotic diseases, and strengthening animal production systems in Asia and Africa.

Focus Areas

Grameena Vikas Kendram is dedicated to advancing animal health and strengthening agricultural practices through several key focus areas:

• On-farm Practices
• Holistic Animal Research
• Access to Finance
• Responsible Antimicrobial Use Stewardship

To achieve these goals, we collaborate with 8 Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) across targeted districts, including 5 in Alluri Seetharamaraju, 1 in Anantapur, and 2 in Satya Sai district. This partnership empowers local farmers with resources and knowledge, fostering resilience and sustainability in the agricultural sector.

Impact

Social

TRANSFORM enhances food security by improving access to safe and nutritious animal-sourced products. By focusing on farmer resilience, the initiative empowers local populations, particularly women and marginalized groups, fostering inclusive development. This holistic approach nurtures a healthier society, ultimately benefiting public health.

Ecological

The initiative prioritizes responsible animal husbandry practices. By preventing antimicrobial resistance and managing emerging zoonoses, it protects biodiversity and ecosystem health. Additionally, strengthening animal production systems reduces environmental degradation, ensuring a balanced coexistence between agriculture and nature.

Economic

TRANSFORM enhances farmer livelihoods by improving animal agriculture quality and productivity. Access to financial resources and training boosts incomes and economic stability in rural communities. Strengthened value chains ensure farmers reap the benefits of their efforts, driving growth and resilience in the agricultural sector across Asia and Africa.

Span

The project targets 10,373 small and marginal farmer families across 342 villages in the Anantapur, Satya Sai, and Alluri Seetharamaraju districts of Andhra Pradesh. This initiative aims to empower these communities by enhancing agricultural practices and improving their livelihoods, fostering sustainable development in the region.
