The global garment industry faces significant challenges in transparency, leading to a limited understanding of the environmental and social impacts of clothing production and consumption. This lack of insight obscures the journey of garments from raw materials to finished products, affecting both ethical and environmental considerations. The absence of comprehensive tracking from production to consumer use perpetuates a gap in accountability and sustainability within the fashion industry.

Impact
This collaborative initiative brings together multiple institutions, transcending geographical boundaries to delve into the value and lifespan of T-shirts, with a special focus on those crafted from Raddis Cotton in India. It offers a transparent view into each stage, engaging farmers, producers, and consumers in both India and the Netherlands. By providing a comprehensive understanding of the garment's lifecycle, it enriches connections and empowers stakeholders with insights into their clothing's origins and environmental impact.
Impact
This initiative illuminates the profound impact of transparency in the garment industry. By tracing 400 T-shirts crafted from Raddis Cotton, cultivated with care by farmers in India and distributed to both India and the Netherlands, the project unveils the journey from farm to fabric.
The project also brings personal stories of change to the forefront. Indigenous farmers in Northern Andhra Pradesh, like Shyamala, find pride and renewed hope in seeing their cotton transformed into tangible products, while, Neeli Gangayya expressed how they had given away their precious cotton, and now witnessing its transformation into vibrant T-shirts that returned to their homes fills them with immense pride and happiness. This collaborative effort not only champions the value of every garment but also reinforces the idea that girls and communities deserve every opportunity to thrive and dream big.
